Woman pulled into a store parking lot near Sycamore Avenue and East Arrowhead Parkway and was robbed at knifepoint. Suspect grabbed her purse and took off running, he was described as a black man with a thin build and short hair.
Three people died in a two-vehicle crash south of Parkston. A car was northbound on South Dakota Highway 37 when the driver lost control on the ice-covered road. The vehicle went across the center line and collided with a southbound semi truck.
No one was hurt when a school bus struck a vehicle east of Aberdeen. Highway Patrol spokesman Tony Mangan tells the American News that all 11 children on the bus escaped injury in the crash about 4 p.m. Thursday.
One person died and three others were injured in a crash near Humboldt Thursday. Law enforcement responded to the area of Highway 42 and 454th Avenue around 5:30 p.m. for a serious crash involving three vehicles, said public spokesman for the Highway Patrol Tony Mangan.

A Sioux Falls man was indicted on burglary and theft charges last week after his most recent accused burglary led police to an unsolved one from 2016. Alexander Kpayah Vorjolo, 20, was indicted by a Minnehaha County grand jury last week on three separate cases. He faces multiple charges of burglary, grand theft and identity theft after court documents say he entered at least two homes, taking two purses full of cash and cards and driving off with a new vehicle in 2016

A South Dakota House panel has advanced a bill that would impose harsher penalties for methamphetamine dealing and manufacturing. The House Judiciary Committee voted 12-1 Wednesday to pass the bill to the chamber's floor. Attorney General Marty Jackley's bill would make distribution and manufacturing a more serious felony with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine, up from 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $20,000.
Authorities say no one was seriously hurt after a three-vehicle crash resulted in a semi truck lodged into the side of a business in northern Sioux Falls. The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Cliff Avenue and North 54th Street.

Police say they are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning. The victim was walking near the 3000 block of South Minnesota Avenue when they were approached by a single person in a blue sedan, according to a release from the Sioux Falls Police Department.
A Sioux Falls garage was damaged in a fire Saturday afternoon. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue said smoke and flames were coming from a detached garage at 1711 S. 1st Avenue when they arrived just after two Saturday afternoon.
No one was injured during an early morning fire in an unoccupied home Friday. Crews responded to a report of a structure fire around 1:40 a.m. at 421 N. Cockatiel Avenue in northwestern Sioux Falls. A patrolling security guard in the area reported smoke and flames coming from the home, according to a Sioux Falls Fire Department news release.

The suspect in a shooting on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation that left two people critically wounded recently pleaded not guilty. Lester Waters Jr. is charged in federal court with assault resulting in serious bodily injury. U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons says Waters is being detained until trial, which wasn't immediately scheduled.
Federal and tribal officials are investigating the fatal shooting of an Oglala Sioux police officer. The Associated Press says officials have identified the officer as 52-year-old Brian Gerard Garrett, of Kyle. The FBI says the officer was killed Saturday about 4:30 a.m. Saturday on the Pine Ridge Reservation during an apparent domestic dispute.
One person has been arrested after one person was killed and another hospitalized after a Saturday night stabbing in Sioux Falls. Officers were called to the 1900 block of West 42nd Street about 9:20 Saturday night. Two people were transported to a local hospital with stab wounds. A 26 year old male died from his injuries, while the other is expected to survive.
Authorities have identified a teenager killed in a pedestrian accident in Box Elder. Pennington County authorities say 16-year-old Jaylen Twiss, of Manderson, was found lying in the median of Highway 14-16 on Thursday.

A two-vehicle crash in central Sioux Falls also damaged a bank branch's front doors. Officers were called to the intersection at West 12th Street and Western Avenue at about 12:40 a.m. Thursday. According to police, a driver failed to stop for a flashing red light and crashed into a van, pushing it into the bank's exterior.
The second of two men facing charges in connection with a robbery that turned deadly at a Rapid City convenience store last year has reached a plea agreement. Twenty-year-old Cody Grady pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery in court Tuesday afternoon. KOTA-TV says Grady was originally charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Loaf 'n' Jug clerk Kasie Lord following an attempt to steal beer in January 2017.
A Sioux Falls man has been arrested after crashing into a parked car and house in a southwest neighborhood. Police say a 2001 Ford F-150 was driven into a parked car in the 7300 block of West 53rd Street early Wednesday morning. The pickup then left the road and crashed into a garage with two more cars parked inside.
